Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.Psalms 127:3-5 ESV

Parenthood Week 1

Week one at home has been a drastic change!  You never give much thought to what people say about being new parents until you finally become one.  You also can't understand it until you ARE a parent. Caleb steals our hearts every time we look at him.  He makes a new adorable face everyday.  Jon has been a rock star dad and has been keeping this place in tip top shape, keeping me alive by feeding me and reminding me to sleep, and running errands starting first thing in the morning.  God has blessed me with this man in my life!

To make things ever more interesting, the Boston Water Authority went into a boil water state of emergency on Saturday.  I never thought I would miss washing dishes as much as I did.  It was one more variable in the equation, but we got through it and the ban was lifted this morning!   We took our first family walk yesterday, just around the block, but it felt great to get outside with Caleb.  We laughed at ourselves because no longer are we just walking around the block, we were on constant defense with the surroundings like "oh the wind might be too strong," or waiting for the next walk sign to blink when it has run down to 6 seconds to cross, and worrying that a low tree branch might brush Caleb's stroller.  We had a good laugh at how protective we've become.  I still can't believe this is my life- richly blessed with my boys.
